I enjoyed an excellent first Open Studios, alongside Peta Stockton and Roland Courtney, buddies from Sevenoaks Art Club. I sold more than I could ever have hoped but, more importantly, I met lots of lovely people throughout the two weeks. I imagined that visitors would be very local - maybe within a couple of miles - but several groups turned up from South London to Hastings. Great to see so many people having a great day out, following a trail of artists' studios. It was fun. Over one weekend, I did a small oil demonstration - that could have been nerve-wracking but visitors just seemed interested in how I went about things - and most only saw a bit of the process anyway. By next year I will have moved from Kent to West Sussex so not sure if SEOS will have been a one-off - if it was, it was magical. Thanks to all who came along - whether they bought or not!
