Much of my landscape work starts outdoors, with my regular "plein aire" trips, when I visit many of the scenic villages, seaside towns and countryside around Sussex and further afield. A sketch pad is never far away. Not only do these sketches give me great memories of the places visited but are the basis for the paintings I create in my little home studio.
I enjoy portrait painting, again sketching when possible from live models, but often finishing from photos.
I've been lucky enough to have a good record of sales from regular exhibitions. I share my "profits" in support of diabetes research - more specifically for Type 1 diabetes.
